The brief

Jellyfish Pictures reached out to Grammatik for support on its PR and Communications strategy. We kicked off our activities by conducting an immersion workshop to outline brand positioning, USPs, and messaging. Key objectives included raising Jellyfish Pictures’ profile as a tech-forward thought leader in the VFX and Animation space, as well as attracting top talent for the business and helping with recruitment efforts.

Following the immersion session, Grammatik put in place a solid PR and marketing plan. We conducted SEO keyword research, and a competitor analysis to inform our content and PR strategy.

Our primary targets for messaging were establishing Jellyfish Pictures as thought leaders in the field, getting coverage in major industry press, helping attract talent, outlining artist profiling opportunities, and refining Jellyfish Pictures’ brand messaging across PR and social media.

The strategy

Messaging strategy

Following our immersion workshops and strategy sessions, our primary focus was to define Jellyfish Pictures’ key messaging for different channels, both owned such as their website and socials, and earned, including features, interviews, thought leadership articles, and artist profiles.

PR

We landed artist profiling pieces in 80.lv and VFX Wire, exclusive thought-leadership bylines in Broadcast, and roundtable discussions in VFX Voice, among others. Following Jellyfish Pictures’ work on Prehistoric Planet, we planned, developed and executed a campaign across PR, web, and social. The result was 28 pieces of press coverage, including exclusive placement in Televisual and British Cinematographer.

Website content and social media

In addition to our earned media work, we created various content campaigns with a recruitment focus, supporting the company’s HR and sales team ahead of events such as Annecy and maximizing the hype around the launch of projects it was heavily involved in, such as the launch of Stranger Things 4. This translated into website blogs and interactive social media posts and assets across LinkedIn, Instagram, and Twitter. The results of these campaigns increased engagement by 36% on Instagram.
